First Round is a neighborhood bar in Dupont Circle, formerly known as Step-Childe Harold. The space has a long history of bringing people together, dating back to its days as Childe Harold, when it welcomed legendary artists including Bruce Springsteen, The Rolling Stones, and The Ramones.

Today, First Round carries that spirit forward with a fresh identity, a relaxed atmosphere, and a subtle Japanese influence throughout the menu and space. Expect thoughtfully crafted cocktails, sake, beer, approachable favorites, and a welcoming place to catch a game, meet friends, or stay for another round.

Our food is prepared by our upstairs partner restaurants, Ko Japanese Dining and Sabai Thai Lao, bringing Japanese and Thai-Lao dishes directly to the bar.
