we are
First Round, formerly known as Step-Childe Harold, is a neighborhood bar in the heart of Dupont Circle. The space has long been a gathering place for great nights, great people, and good times — and we’re carrying that spirit forward with a fresh identity, a welcoming atmosphere, and a subtle Japanese influence.
Our food is prepared by our upstairs partner restaurants, Ko Japanese Dining and Sabai Thai Lao, bringing Japanese and Thai-Lao dishes directly to the bar. Pair them with cocktails, sake, beer, and all the classics you’d expect from your neighborhood spot.
